update on Taylor

Okay we had our neurologist apt. this Tues....he had an EEG so I had to keep him awake all night long and then after the EEG we went and meet with the doctor. Sooo needless to say we had a very long day but really everything went very well. The doctor got to see an episode which I have been wanting one to see one. And then he reviewed the EEG which look fine ( we already expected it would since the other EEG look fine too) Then we just got into explaining these episodes....he said Taylor is a moderate to sever breath holder. And that he can not control them himself. They are a brain heart issue. His brain is overreacting and stopping his heart for a couple of beats or so, so that cause him to stop breathing and turn blue...he said these look worse than kids that have seizures and that they are scarier than seizures...but that there is really no fix for them...he may out grow it. He does want a cardiologist to see him since these episodes are so not typical (even for these kind of episodes) so we need to rule out a further heart issue.
So we left a little disappointed..we wanted a fix for all of this...but if we had received information that day other than what we did it would not have been good news and so that is the good thing. So I have to keep a journal of all of these episodes, which I have been from the beginning and we go back in a couple of months.

Chris - I just found a link to your blog on Monica's page . . hope that's ok!! I had no clue you were struggling with health issues with your littlest man. I'm so sorry - we never knew exactly what "Mommy" was going to mean until we started walking this journey, huh? I'll be praying for your family - for Taylor specifically. You are doing a GREAT job being his (and Weston's) advocate and mom! Blessings -
